Overview
At SBRI, training is an inherent part of our mission as we
strive to educate the next generation of infectious disease researchers. Our
scientists are the best and brightest researchers in their own rights. They’re
also teachers at heart, giving generously of their time and knowledge to prepare
others to follow in their footsteps. SBRI currently has students from a dozen
countries around the world, learning the latest techniques and technologies to
use in the battle against deadly infectious diseases.
In addition to laboratory research opportunities, trainees
at SBRI attend and participate in several seminars and journal clubs. These
include the Monday
Seminar Series, the Pathogen Interest Group,
the Seattle Malaria Group, and several journal clubs. There are numerous
other seminars and interest groups available to our trainees at the University
of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
