Our horizons have expanded for SBRI’s highly regarded BioQuest science education program, and so has our space. Designed to depict the human side of science, the new home for BioQuest on the first floor of the SBRI Building at 307 Westlake is a cornerstone of innovative science in the community. With an introduction to hands-on science, local high school students and their teachers will get an “up close and personal” look at the challenge of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, as well as the hope represented by the work being done at SBRI.

Science Gallery
The BioQuest Science Gallery has been created as a “community living room for life sciences.” The gallery features artistic exhibits to educate visitors and the community about the challenges of infectious disease as it relates to global health and the hope offered by SBRI’s research.
SBRI is currently seeking funding in order to activate the gallery with more
dynamic, interactive displays to engage the community, as well as high school
students, in learning more about global health and life sciences careers.
Learning Lab
The BioQuest Learning Lab (adjacent to the gallery) offers a safe, dedicated space designed by scientists and educators. It is the only lab of its
kind in the Puget Sound area that can accommodate a full class of 32 high school students. In the BioQuest Learning Lab, students and their teachers can “roll up their sleeves” and work side-by-side with SBRI’s scientists, conducting cutting-edge scientific experiments while getting a first-hand look at research in action.
