Principal Investigators
At SBRI, nearly 20 world-renowned scientists, called principal investigators, lead our research efforts. Each of these scientists heads an independent research lab with a focus on studying pathogens, parasites, tropical, and opportunistic diseases using molecular biology and genomic approaches. These scientists have chosen to study diseases that are the world’s deadliest killers, but often the most neglected in terms of research.
The exchange of ideas leading to new discoveries is the hallmark of collaboration among SBRI’s principal investigators. Our scientists cut across a wide variety of disciplines and areas of specialization in order to collaborate and share information with colleagues around the world and here in Seattle.
