Monday Seminar Series
SBRI’s Monday Seminar Series takes place at noon each Monday in SBRI’s Discovery Meeting Room, located on the first floor of the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute Building, at 307 Westlake Avenue North (unless otherwise noted). The series features local, national and international speakers from a variety of backgrounds – academic institutions, non-profit institutes and for-profit biotech companies.

Pathogen Interest Group Meetings
Pathogen Interest Group (PIG) meetings occur on most Tuesdays at noon, and generally feature speakers who are members of our scientific staff, including graduate students and postdoctoral scientists. The meetings allow young scientists to share their latest research and hone presentation skills.

Please contact Malcolm Fancher for further information.

Community Leader Briefings
Periodically, SBRI holds breakfast or lunch briefings to introduce members of the community to the Institute.  The briefing includes a tour of SBRI's labs, with stops to learn more about our scientific research programs from principal investigators.  Following the tour, our board chair and our president lead a brief presentation, highlighting SBRI's role in infectious disease research. For more information on attending one of these briefings, please contact Lee Schoentrup.

Evenings of Discovery
Many people who’ve visited SBRI have shown a particular interest in a more in-depth look at our research. In response to that demand, we developed a series called "Evenings of Discovery", an interactive exploration of global health and SBRI's most recent discoveries.

Our scientists, along with other experts in the field from such organizations as the Gates Foundation and the University of Washington, have tackled subjects such as emerging infectious diseases, vaccine development and genome sequencing.  Most of these events also provide an opportunity for community members to roll up their sleeves and work side-by-side with SBRI scientists for hands-on experimentation in the BioQuest Learning Lab.  For more information on attending one of these events, please contact Lee Schoentrup.
